Fleettracker Update April
many things happened this month: On the one hand we celebrated our housewarming and anniversary party together with our customers and business partners. Secondly, the new, modern Here charts have gone online – read more about this below. If you want personal advice, just call us: +49 40 / 39 90 34 94.
A brief review and a warm thank you.
Literally many of our customers were showing their colours with a little flag on the lapel -
As part of a contest we asked the question of the number of Fleettracker logins from the beginning of the year until 14 April 2016. Hermann Wermes, (Reederei Jüngerhans), Heiko Höfer (Nordic IT) and Marc Riedke (Vega Reederei) came with their estimations closest to the 40,180 logins and could "reach for the stars". The prize consisted of different gourmet baskets.
Along with good conversation, cocktails and a scrumptious buffet some very beautiful photos were taken of some customers for our next ads. At this point: A big thank you to our models - we will send you a draft shortly.
"I was very pleased about the commitments, gifts and congratulations. But thanks again!",said Jan Herberg, Managing Director. "This event has shown that our new premises are ideal for an active exchange with our customers. So we would like to welcome you here in the future also for lectures and seminars."
If you were unable to attend to our housewarming and anniversary party, we invite you again. Come and meet us - we look forward to your visit.
The new Here charts are available on www.fleettracker.de since 03/31/2016. They replace the previous Bing charts, as they can no longer be used for the display of tracking data.
Below we present new, useful functions of Here charts. Our maxim for you: More security, more overview, less work. Other additional map features are currently being developed by our programmers - we keep you up to date.
All ECA zones with just one click.
Ignorance does not protect against punish-
ment – and that can be really expensive, if a ship does not follow the ECAs environmental guidelines. But where do they start and end? Instead of researching the zones cumbersome, the ECA zones of the US, North Europe and China are displayed in the Here charts with a single click. So the captain can take timely necessary arrangements for entrance and provide the relevant evidence. On request, an email notification will be sent automatically as soon as the ship sails to an ECA zone or leaves.
Recognizing danger areas in time.
Special danger areas requiring special protection - therefore you will see on the new Here charts the Joint War Committee zones. To know exactly what dangers await the ships and when they are reaching or leaving these zones concerned. This allows a better preparation and planning, for example in relation to the insurance or any dangerous work for the crew. On request, an email notification will be sent automatically as soon as the ship passes through the zone. In the future we will add many more areas such as WHO regions and territories.
Better handling with time differences.
Sun, dusk, night - the Twilight zone in the Here charts indicates the best time to contact the captain and not to disturb his sleep over trifles. A look into the Twilight zones is also very helpful for planning many other activities such as repair work on deck. Some shipping companies use the display also representative in their offices or on their homepage – according to the motto: We have a look at our fleet day and night.
Rangefinders for many purposes.
To know distances precisely means to plan better and easier with the Devider tool of Here charts. The distance meter turns out for many different scenarios to be useful: For example, if a helicopter should deliver spare parts on board, simply measure which starting position is closest and thus save your company money. Or use the tool to assess risk: Is the main engine failed, you can calculate the distances measured when the vessel encounters danger zones in order to take appropriate action.
